| Wilkes County Aqutics and Fitness Council is a non profit orginization operating under 501C3 certification, which was established in 2000-2001 with the establishment of a year round swimming and aquatics program for all ages. From professional instruction for the "Learn to Swim" classes to the age group competitive program, We have provided aquatic activities for Wilkes County for several years. The Wilkes Aquatics center also offers Lifeguard certification, adult exercise programs in aquatic, weight training and other means of physical fitness. We offer open lap swim, USA age specific competitions as well as family aquatic programs. Our facilities consists of a 25 yard 6 lane year round heated indoor pool with large locker rooms with showers. We also have an indoor walking track for year round use. Our facility houses 2 raquet ball courts. Our fitness centers include both a free weight room as well as a machine room. Wilkes Aquatics and Fitness Center is managed and directed by a 7 member Board of Directors. Our aquatics director Collee Riddle has many years of training in both swimming activities as well as professional fitness programs. Ms. Collee operates as both the Director of the Aquatics facility as well as the AQUATECHS swim coach Once again we are a non profit orginization and all funds received from fees,activities and sponsorships goes directly into the operation and maintenance of the facility We strive to offer excellent programs for young and old alike.
